Nathan Swavely

I play guitar or bass in five bands, and I sing in most of them.

I write the songs for Wake Up John and Tornādo Tornädo.

Releases

The newest one from each band, and each band's page has the rest of what they've put out.

I also work on other people's music.

Recording, producing, and mixing live sound, plus the visual side if you need it: logos, album art, a website.

If you're looking to make something sound (or look) better, let's talk.

I design logos, album covers, websites, and things that get printed.

Some of this is client work for a band, an author, and a few companies, and the rest I made for myself or for my D&D group.

Projects

Personal Portfolio, 2025nathanswavely.comA portfolio site designed to feel dynamic, personal, and anti-pretentious.Brand Identity / Illustration / Web Design / Logo DesignView project

I build websites and small tools.

For artists, venues, and projects that ship without a team.

Things I've built

Lancaster Patchwork, showing community groups as quilt tiles with follower and event counts
2026 · Go / SQLite / Svelte

Patchwork

Open source platform for community organizing, built to be self-hosted. Every group in a city is a tile in one quilt, placed by the people it shares with its neighbors rather than by an algorithm. Designed, built, and shipped solo. First deployment is live for Lancaster, PA.

Showliner's marketing site, showing the live room view with a join code, the running order, and audience chat
2025 · TypeScript / Postgres

Showliner

Workspaces for venues and performers to run their events and lineups. Audiences join in from their phones during the show.

Jump Back In mid-walk, showing a remembered-moment card from Breaking Bad with the three answer buttons beneath it
2026 · Python / JavaScript

Jump Back In

Finds the episode you stopped a show at, without spoilers. A static site with no backend; an LLM pipeline turns Wikipedia summaries into memory prompts.

This site's hero, showing the illustrated Hello persona over the display word and the persona carousel beneath
2025 · Astro / TypeScript / Pages CMS

nathanswavely.com

The site you're on. Custom carousel-driven portfolio with persona-aware theming and a CMS-backed updates feed. Designed and shipped solo.

2025 · Astro / Pages CMS

Tornādo Tornädo

A site for the band, set up so they can update their own shows and links without touching code.

What I'd love to build for you

  • A microsite for your band

Shows, releases, press kit, mailing list. Update it from your phone the day of the show.

  • A small tool that solves one thing

Single-purpose utilities for venues, labels, agents. Doesn't justify a SaaS, does justify a weekend.

  • A landing page that earns its weight

Single-purpose, opinionated, fast. No cookie-cutter section grids.

Got a tool, site, or weird experiment? Let's talk.

I love running TTRPGs, mostly D&D 5e. Always down to join or run another table.

I've done multi-year campaigns as a DM and player, and run more one-shots for beginners than I can count. If you're curious about Dungeons and Dragons and would like to have a low-pressure experience as a newbie, hit me up! I love running one-shots for new players!

I love to write, but I'm whatever the opposite of "prolific" is.

I've got prose, poetry, and corporate writing under my belt, and would be happy to serve as a second set of eyes/editor as well. There are a couple long-standing projects that I chip away at month over month: a novel, and a musical, so I hope to eventually have something to share on those fronts.
